Okjeongho is
spreading over
Jeongeup and
Imsil, and the
gravity concrete
dam has been
constructed
on Okjung-ri,
Kangjin-myon,
Imsil-gun, Jellabukdo,
which is the
82.4km point
from the upper
stream of Seomjin
River. By using
the 6.2km pressure
waterway from
here to Seomjin
River Hydroelectric
Power Plant
located on Sisan-ri,
Chilbo-myon,
Jeongeup City,
it conducts
water, generates
electricity
and discharges
water to Dongjin
River to supply
agricultural
water to Honam
Plains about
40,000m2. It
is the fist
Basin Changing
Hydroelectic
Power Plant,
which supplies
water to West
Jellabuk-do
area as well.
The management
of the dam is
held in trust
of Korea Water
Resources Corporation,
and they concluded
an agreement
with Dongjin-nongjo
about the dam
water level
of 188.68m for
agricultural
water every
March 31.
